Convention Update: Career Fair
While the Council and organizers are finalizing the schedule for this year's Convention in Atlanta, we have a few new features to share with you already.  On Friday, we will be offering the first ever ADG Career Fair!  This is going to be a great opportunity for both employers and job-seekers to come together to network and fulfill mutual goals.  Be sure to bring a few copies of your resume this year!  If you are interested in reserving a spot for your company as a recruiter or hiring representative, please contact the Convention Steward, Michael Blackstock immediately to guarantee a spot!

Not Just Whistlin' Dixie!
Have you reserved your room for Convention yet?  Spots are filling up fast and rooms around the city are being booked quickly, so be sure to make your reservation soon!  Though the theme of this year's conclave is "Bringing the Alumni Home," we have many events for active and alumnus alike, including a tour of some amazing local Atlanta attractions!  For more information, be sure to check out the Convention page on the National Website, or contact our Convention Steward, Michael Blackstock.  You should also check out the Official Atlanta Convention website!

Summertime Flies
Before you know it, the Fall semester will be upon us again.  If you do not currently have your chapter information packet that was sent out last February, do not panic.  We will be distributing the packets again, one per chapter.  Be sure you contact your chapter's representatives to ensure that they pick up and return this vital tool.  If you have any questions, please contact the Executive Vice President, Arthur Taylor for more details.

ADG Solutions: Education
We hope you have had a chance to review the documents on the ADG Solutions that were presented at last year's Convention.  This summer is shaping up to be a grand affair in Atlanta, but there is work to be done in the Jewel of the South.  We are scheduling a discussion on updating the National Education Manual.  While the National Council has never imposed or enforced a policy on education, there has always been a template to refer back to, should any chapter require one.  It is also essential for new colonies and chapters of ADG who never ran a class prior to joining.  For more information on this initiative, or if you would like additional copies of the documents, please contact the National Council as soon as possible.

Message from the Council

Brothers,

How has your summer been progressing?  I hope everyone is enjoying the time away from school safely and has found ample time to relax for a change.  For those of you already in the workforce, I hope you have found the time for a vacation or two.

Whatever the summer holds for you and yours, I simply ask that you remember ADG.  Let me explain that statement a bit.

We are founded upon the principles of the 5 S's.  Encourage those who are struggling with schoolwork.  Help those who are dismayed to see the benefits of their educational institution.  Seek out those who are lonely and isolated, bring them cheer.  Lend a hand to those who cannot raise their own.  Support and bolster those who are weak in their faith.

We believe that an Alphadelt is the model of a complete, ideal person.  Wear that belief like a badge of honor.  Do not hide it from those who simply cannot grasp the concept.  There are a lot of detractors and critics in the world these days.  Prove them all wrong by your words, your appearance, and your actions.

We believe that 'a brother who is helped by a brother is like a city walled.'  When someone cuts you off on the road; when your neighbor is blaring music that does not suit you; when a retail clerk is having a bad day; when a sibling pushes you too far; when your family and friends seem like they are miles away from where you are in life... Remember ADG.

Summer is a great time to unwind and let ourselves go a little.  ADG is more than just a facet of who we are.  It does not merely define us, but we continue to define ADG through our daily lives.  Be proud, carry this with you always, and be sure to remember ADG not only throughout the summer of 2007.

Ad Dei Gloriam, brothers.

Fraternally,
Art
