Convention 2002 in Saint Louis, Beta's 75th

This year Convention will be held in Saint Louis at Beta chapter; it will be their 75th anniversary as well. Convention will be the dates of August 6-10. There are a lot of great plans including a visit to the Gateway Arch, Budweiser Brewery Tour, and a Cardinals baseball game. Saint Louis also has a very good bar scene within walking distance of the hotel.

To make hotel reservations call Radisson Hotel and Suites at 314-621-8200. Be sure when making reservations to tell them that you are with the Alpha Delta Gamma Convention.

This convention will be a very interesting and eventful one. Not only will we be electing all new National Officers we will have a new format for the officers to follow. Derrick Cabrera “Fugi” and Bryan Lind “Lucky” made some very extensive changes to the national constitution that will be implemented this year. We hope that all will make plans to attend this monumental convention.

Kappa's Year of Firsts

This year Kappa held their First Annual ADG Halloween Party at the campus bar. Many people wore costumes and there was even a contest for the best dressed at the end of the night. They also held their First Annual ADG Toga Party. In the styles of Animal House, two live bands played until everyone finished having a good time. Hopefully the interest will grow throughout the years.

Kappa’s pledge class won the Catholic University of America School Fight Song contest. The official fight song for CUA is now attributed to Alpha Delta Gamma. Congratulations.

Bill Phelan was inducted into the CUA honor society and several candidate members are involved in the honor society. Besides getting together every Wednesday night at the campus bar, the brothers had a “Dunk a Delt” event on campus. They were also involved in the school’s haunted house and fundraising for the September 11 fund.

A special congratulations to the new actives at Kappa:
Scott Jackson
Jim Lee
Hector Herrera
Patrick McGuire
Alex Razzook
Francis Sullivan
Tony Andrade

Epsilon's Strong On Campus

The Epsilon brothers were active in Loyola’s Take Back the Night, a walk against domestic violence and Wolves on the Prowl, a community service project. Again this year they won the Intramural athletics award. They also donated some money to the Red Cross.

They are now the only fraternity on campus to have a house on campus. It is now getting some renovations done.

Wanna Buy a Delt?
Psi chapter held its first annual Bachelor/Bachelorette Auction last night. Men and women were auctioned off to the standing room only crowd. Many area Restaurants donated dinners for two and several other hotspots in the area donated gift certificates. The buyer and their date then enjoyed themselves and the chapter raised a total of $440 dollars. “We suggest every chapter try this idea.”

Alpha chapter inducted 10 new members and have also held their new elections. Congratulations to the new Alpha officers. Like Epsilon they are working on house renovations.

Among other fundraisers, they co-sponsored a massive clothing drive with the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority on campus. While Tony Vaticano visited they prepared for convention by defeating the SAEs on campus in a football game.

Blackstock Visits Beta

Mike Blackstock embraced Beta chapter with his presence in early November. There was a convention planning meeting that went very well. He also helped them at their annual Ronald McDonald House Auction, and after had a little time to relax with the actives.

Beta chapter is preparing for their Christmas Party and Invite Party to be held in early December. After a rough 8 weeks they initiated 7 new actives bringing their totals to 25.
