Aaron Dwyer
Past National President
Aaron's journey with Alpha Delta Gamma began in 2010 when he was initiated into the Kappa Chapter in Washington, D.C. As an undergraduate at The Catholic University of America, he quickly emerged as a leader, serving as Chapter President in 2012-2013 and earning the Walter Dove Award as Brother of the Year. His academic achievements were equally impressive, graduating in 2013 with dual degrees in International Politics and Biblical Studies, along with a minor in Philosophy.
Aaron's national leadership began in 2012 when he was elected National Student Representative, where he improved communication between chapters and increased participation in fraternal events. The following year, he took on the role of National Secretary, streamlining record-keeping processes while helping establish the Alpha Iota Chapter at Felician University. His dedication led to his election as Vice President of Internal Affairs in 2014, a position he held for two separate terms. During this time, Aaron created the National Day of Service (which later evolved into Founder's Week), modernized chapter reporting systems to achieve 100% compliance, and helped organize record-breaking national conventions.
In 2017, Aaron transitioned to Vice President of External Affairs, focusing on strengthening alumni relations. He developed a new transition ceremony for graduating members and rebuilt connections with inactive chapters. His leadership during this period laid the groundwork for his eventual election as National President in 2020 - a challenging time as he guided the fraternity through the COVID-19 pandemic. Under his leadership, ADG hosted its first virtual convention (achieving record attendance), implemented mental health initiatives, and adjusted financial policies to support struggling chapters.
Beyond the National Council, Aaron has made significant contributions to the Alpha Delta Gamma Foundation, serving on its Board of Directors since 2017 and later as Executive Vice President. His efforts helped grow the alumni database to over 5,000 members. In 2022, his fraternal leadership was recognized at the national level when he was elected to the Governing Council of the North-American Interfraternity Conference.
For Aaron, ADG represents the enduring values of love, family, and faith. The fraternity has profoundly impacted his life - shaping his career, introducing him to his wife Maureen (a two-time National Sweetheart), and teaching him the importance of service and humility. Today, Aaron lives in Baltimore with his family while working as an International Logistics Coordinator, yet remains deeply committed to mentoring brothers and supporting ADG's future. His story exemplifies the fraternity's Five S's - Service, Scholarship, Social, School Spirit, and Spiritual growth - demonstrating how these principles extend far beyond college years.
"A brother helped by a brother is like a city walled" - this motto has guided Aaron's journey, from his early days as a candidate to his current role as a leader shaping ADG's future. His legacy continues as he works to ensure every brother has the opportunity to experience the same transformative brotherhood that has defined his life.
